DEAR SENATOR:
On June 8, 2005 the USS Liberty Veteran’s Association filed
a “Report of War Crimes Committed Against U.S. Military, June
8, 1967” with the U.S. secretary of the Army, who, by law and
international treaty, is required to look into such charges. Please
read this report, which can be found on the USS Liberty Memorial
Web site: <http://www.ussliberty.com/>.
Having received no substantive
communication since the filing of the report, two retired U.S.
Navy admirals—one a Navy Judge
Advocate General officer who, in June 1967, was attached to the command
of Adm. John S. McCain and who refused to sign the U.S. Navy Court
of Inquiry Report on Israel’s attack on the Liberty—wrote
a letter to the secretary of the Army and the secretary of the Navy
and to U.S. Senator and former Secretary of the Navy John Warner.
The text of this letter is available at: <http://freewebs.com/gidusko/crimes/>.
The
families of those killed June 8, 1967 and those who are fortunate
enough to have survived the attack, as well as the American people,
deserve the truth. I ask you, as my representative, to call for
an official investigation into this 39-year-old tragedy.

The USS Liberty Veterans Association (LVA) has tried
for over 39 years to expose the truth behind Israel’s deliberate
attack on the USS Liberty. Congress has never investigated the June
8, 1967 attack. There has been a colossal cover-up surrounding this
tragedy, such as why two flights of Naval aircraft dispatched from
Sixth Fleet carriers were recalled.
What is clear is that Israel Defense
Forces murdered 34 Americans and wounded 172 on board the USS Liberty
in international waters,
and that there are few in Congress willing to risk confronting
Israel-first lobbyists to wage a long overdue investigation. |
