DEAR SENATOR:
Caterpillar Inc. continues to flaunt its violations of international
law—and even its own standards of corporate responsibility—regarding
material support for Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian
people. I urge you to demonstrate your opposition to Caterpillar’s
actions by refusing to accept contributions from its lobbying arm,
the Caterpillar Employees Political Action Committee, as well as
individual contributions from its CEO, James Owens, and its subsidiaries,
Caterpillar Logistics Services and Solar Turbines Inc. Please take
this small but principled step to support justice and a peaceful
resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“Caterpillar betrays its stated values when
it sells bulldozers to Israel knowing that they are being used to
illegally destroy Palestinian homes. Until Israel stops these practices,
Caterpillar’s continued sales will make the company complicit
in human rights abuses.”
—Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director, Human Rights Watch
“All
States are under an obligation not to recognize the illegal situation
resulting from the construction of the wall and not to render aid
or assistance in maintaining the situation created by such construction.”

of the Construction of a Wall in the Occupied Palestinian Territory,
